Interim Development Director
Tara Stone Medina joined CAPS as Interim Development Director in 2025 after serving the organization for two years as its strategic development consultant and grant writer. She brings 20 years of experience helping mission-driven organizations build strong, sustainable fundraising strategies in the United States and internationally.
Tara’s work is rooted in advancing educational access, workforce pathways, and equity-centered climate solutions. During her time with CAPS, she has helped secure and steward significant public, philanthropic, and corporate investments supporting student-led climate action, paid internships, and career pathways in clean energy and sustainability. Across her career, she has supported organizations in securing more than $30 million in competitive grant funding and over $200 million in non-competitive funding.
As Interim Development Director, Tara leads CAPS’ fundraising strategy across individual, corporate, foundation, and public-sector partnerships, stewarding relationships and resources while working closely with staff and the Board Development Committee to support the organization’s continued growth.
